Senator Obama is not unique among politicians who want to control prices, as if that is controlling the underlying reality behind the prices. But politics is not about facts. It is about what politicians can get people to believe.
Within the past year, an important new debate has taken shape, though it's not likely to be the focus of any forthcoming presidential debates as such. It is likely, however, to distinguish liberal from centrist thinking for decades to come.
Apology, schmapology -- both Clinton and Edwards (and a lot of others) cast a dishonorable vote. Let's never forget that.
